2613713 - EWA - Cache Cleanup job (/IWFND/R_SM_CLEANUP)

Symptom

  • There's an alert in your EWA that requires you to schedule a specific job or report on your managed system.
  • You are using a third-party job scheduling tool to schedule your standard SAP jobs.
  • The specific job or report that the EWA mentions is already scheduled by the external job scheduling tool.
  • However, the EWA is not recognizing that the job is scheduled and running at the required times.

13.2 Gateway Administration

13.2.1 Cache Cleanup Job

Report /IWFND/R_SM_CLEANUP has not been scheduled to clean up the cache and persistency frameworks in SAP NetWeaver Gateway periodically.

Recommendation: The cleanup tasks need to be performed at regular intervals. The frequency with which they run depends on the load in your system and may therefore vary. We recommend periodically cleaning up all processed messages to avoid wasting disk and memory space.

Implementation: Call transaction SPRO, open the SAP Reference IMG, navigate to SAP NetWeaver --> Gateway --> Former Development --> Generic Channel --> Administration --> Cache Settings --> Create Cleanup Jobs, and create the job.
