2614062 - Custom Email Notification for Document Generation Template is not Working

Customer wants to send a custom specific email notification to CC users.

They get the following error message as an email:

"There is an error in the document generation template configuration. Please correct the document generation template TEMPLATE_NAME to receive the document generation template emails."

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central: Employee Central Workflows

The error message can appear in the email for the following reasons:

1) If the template is not available for receiver locale. If receiver of email is in Japanese locale and document template is missing the Japanese you will see this error message
2) If the template has no placeholder or no mapping template defined.

Workaround:

1. Create a placeholder in template and create mapping, then generate email and test
2. If email received is fine, then you can choose to retain and use placeholder or delete the mapping and then delete placeholder
3. Test again and the custom email will still be working now after above changes
