Symptom
- This KB article discusses the "Origin" value, which is populated for the users' assigned items.
- When creating a custom report, how is this detail recorded in the database?
Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.

Resolution
- The detail for the "Origin" value is contained in the "PA_STUD_CPNT" database table in the "ORIGIN" column.
- What is populated in this column does not necessarily reflect what is displayed in the Learning admin UI.
- The "ORIGIN" database field is only populated for those items assigned by an assignment profile or by a program.
- If the item was self-assigned, assigned by a supervisor or by an admin, then the ORIGIN database field will be null/blank.
- To know if the item was assigned by a class, the "SCHD_ID" column of the "PA_STUD_CPNT" table needs to be verified to check if that is populated.
- If it is, then the "Origin" value in the user's record will display "Class".
- If the "ADD_USER" column has a value of "P", then the "Origin" value in the user's record will display "Self-Assigned".
- If the "ADD_USER" column has a value of "A", then the "Origin" value in the user's record will display "Directly Assigned".
- If the "ADD_USER" column has a value of "S", then the "Origin" value in the user's record will display "Manager Assigned".
- If there is a record in the "PA_STUD_QUAL_CPNT" table, then the "Origin" value in the user's record will be "Curriculum".
