2616221 - Excel SDK Tool fails to load Universe Designer in a VBA project on Windows 10

Symptom

We have an SDK based excel tool that works on our older Windows 7 machines but is not loading the Designer on Windows 10.

The VBA references seem to be proper with BusinessObjects Designer 14.0 Object Library which points to C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\win32_x86\designer.tlb

We have three designer modules designer.dll designer.tlb designer.exe Do we need to reregister the dll/tlb?

Lines failing are:

  • Dim oDes As Designer.Application
  • Dim oUnv As Designer.Universe
  • Set oDes = New Designer.Application
