2616389 - How to Create/Edit Default Text in the E-mail Body for an Output Document

Symptom

You would like to Create or Edit default text in the e-mail body for an output document such as Sales Order Confirmation.

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the Sales Orders work center.
  2. Go to the Sales Orders view.
  3. Open one certain sales order.
  4. Click You Can Also on the right top, and click Edit Output Settings.
  5. In the new window, click E-Mail Text, you can see the default mail template.

You want to know how to maintain the mail default text.

Cause

The mail default text is hard coded in the backend. But you may upload a custom version.

Resolution

1. Go to Application and User Management  work centre.
2. Navigate to Form Template Maintenance View.
3. Show Active Forms and click Go.
4. Select any output document(Example: Sales Order Confirmation) .
5. Go to Actions from the drop-down select Create E-mail Template.
6. Select HTM/HTML file which can be used as an e-mail template and click Ok.

Note : The System only supports HTM/HTML file format uploads as E-mail Template.

In the current release, the system allows you to create e-mail templates in either the HTM or HTML file formats for the following form template groups:

  • Sales Order.
  • Sales Quote.
  • Purchase Order.
  • Customer Contract.
  • Invoice Request.
  • Remittance Advice.
  • Customer Invoice.
  • Expense Report.
  • Petty Cash Receipt.
  • Journal Entry Report.
  • Tax Return.
  • Data Privacy.
  • Third Party Logistics Outbound Request.

However if you try to create an e-mail template for any form template group covered above, the system will display an error message - E-mail templates not supported for this form template group.
