Symptom

 FQDN (Fully Qualified Domain Name) being overwritten and deleted from step 2.1 Define HTTP Connectivity of infrastructure preparation.

Environment

  • SAP Solution Manager 7.2
  • Two instances on one host

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Login to Solution Manager
  2. Go to SOLMAN_SETUP
  3. Select Infrastructure Preparation
  4. Go to Step 2.1 Define HTTP Connectivity

Cause

There are two instances on one host and FQDNs are not set up properly.

Resolution

If there are two (or more) instances on one host please ensure that FQDNs are defined correctly in the instance profile. Multiple FQDN's defined causes outside discovery to switch them.
