2617049 - Report takes more time to complete after upgrade ASE from 15.7 to 16 - SAP ASE BS

Symptom

  • After DB upgraded from ASE 15.7 to 16, some of the reports (e.g. payroll posting) take more time to complete.
  • From the ST05 trace, most of the time is spent on the PREPARE stage of the query.
  • By monitoring the stacktrace of DB spid, it shows the process repeatedly calling function prot__add_param.
