What are the 2 types of SAP SuccessFactors Environment?

• Production
• The production environment is also known as live - where your application is actually available for end-users / business use. 
• Preview
• The preview environment is also known as development, test, or staging to other customers, the purpose of this environment is to allow human testers to exercise new and changed code via either automated checks or non-automated techniques. After the developer accepts the new code and configurations through unit testing in the development environment, the items are moved to one or more test environments. Preview environment also mirror the actual production environment as closely as possible and may have the same user information or database via an instance refresh.

Why correct a cross environment integration?

Cross-references between environments are NOT RECOMMENDED. We highly not recommend Cross-Environment integration between Onboarding 1.0 and BizX.

Cross environment integration are prone to integration issues and bugs due to different release code. Kindly note that preview environment receives the semi-annual release version in advance (1 month before production release), this means that new functionality can be tested in advanced to avoid disruptions when new version is patched in production environment.

Reminder, after release of newest version in preview if we connect Onboarding 1.0 preview with BizX production then customers may face integration related issues.

What is the recommended integration?

Customers are advised to have same environment integration for SAP SuccessFactors HCM and Onboarding 1.0.

Customers are also advised to have DataCenter for SAP SuccessFactors HCM and Onboarding 1.0.

Our recommendation is to have like environments/DC integrated. If you have such type of configurations (new implemenation or post-refresh activities), please work with your implementation partner or reach out to Support Team by creating a ticket for certificate installation as a workaround.
