2618393 - Future/Past dated results not displayed correctly in Reports

Symptom

  • Future-dated records are not displaying in Reports
For example new future-dated Department and Cost Center data was entered for a user's Global Job Information record.  Upon running the report, the Department and Cost Center fields are blank.
  • Historical or past-dated data is not shown when reporting from or adding fields from Global Job Information. e.g. we need to see the past or old labels for Department and Cost Center

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Workforce Analytics

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Add a field from any table (e.g. Global Job Information, Personal Information, Position) which is related to another object or sources its values from an object or a picklist (auto-join field).
Filter or check on a data value which either have:
    a. future change in label or
    b. has historical or past records (data changes in label)
  2. Pick a date option in the future/past/show all
  3. Result:  Notice that the data / label / value shown is always the current effective label.  You can check the label or data changes in Admin Center > Manage Data

    Resolution

    Future-Dated Records:

    • A record must be active in the system for it to be considered in reporting.
    • Data will only be visible in reports on the actual Effectivity Date.

    Label Values Behavior:

    • Fields sourced directly from Global Job Information and Position will only retrieve current data.

      • Even when using the "Show All" option, future-dated Department and Cost Center values will not populate.
      • To include future Department and Cost Center values:
        1. Add a join to the respective Department and Cost Center objects.
        2. Configure the Date Options to include future dates or use Show All.
    • Fields in Global Job Information and Position that are linked to related objects (e.g., First Name, Last Name) always fetch current or today's data.

      • This is because the system considers future records as not yet active.
      • To retrieve name fields for future records, use the Personal Information object instead.

    Historical (Past-Dated) Records:

    • The same logic applies: Global Job Information will always display the current label.
    • To report on historical or past labels:
      1. Add a join to the source object (e.g., Foundation Objects → Department or Cost Center).
      2. Select the relevant label field (e.g., name) from the joined object.
      3. Configure the Date Options to retrieve past data.
