2618530 - Registered Product General Information Context Is Deprecated

You want to understand the implication of creating an extension field for the Registered Product - General Information business context, since the context is now deprecated.

SAP Hybris Cloud for Customer

1. Go to Installed Base work center
2. Navigate to Registered Products view
3. Click on Adapt → Edit Master Layout and enter adaptation mode
4. Click on New and select the '+' icon in the pop-up
5. Now select Add Fields → New field
6. Can see that the business context for Registered Product - General Information is deprecated

The purpose of making the Registered Product - General Information business context deprecated is to discourage its use and encourage the use of Installation Point - General Information instead.

If the extension fields are required to be present in the Registered Product Quick create, you can still continue to use Registered Product - General Information business context, as extension fields added under context Installation Point - General Information are not yet supported in the Quick Create. We will continue to support the Registered Product - General Information context.
