Symptom

  • "False-Positive" warning
  • Virus warning on attempt to download Crystal Reports from SAP website

Environment

  • AntiVirus software

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Click on the SAP link to download SAP Crystal Reports
  2. It fails with a Warning or Blocked message

Cause

  • There are several virus scanners on the market that are prone to issuing incorrect virus messages, that is "false positives".

Resolution

  • To ensure that our customers have the best protection from viruses, we use several well-known virus scanners (including McAfee and Symantec) to check volumes before they are delivered.
    Daily updates of virus definitions ensure that the virus scanners are current.
