2621159 - Tomcat not getting started after update

Symptom

  •  Unable to Start tomcat after applying update on SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence Platform 
  •  The stderr log file gives below error meassages:

    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/apache/catalina/startup/Bootstrap
    Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.apache.catalina.startup.Bootstrap at java.net.URLClassLoader.findClass(URLClassLoader.java:443)
    at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:490) at sun.misc.Launcher$AppClassLoader.loadClass(Launcher.java:380) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:423) at org.apache.catalina.startup.Bootstrap.init(Bootstrap.java:266) at org.apache.catalina.startup.Bootstrap.main(Bootstrap.java:465)

    After running version.bat command from tomcat/bin got below error: Error occurred during initialization of VM java/lang/NoClassDefFoundError: java/lang/Object
