2621578 - SAP Gateway back-end system generates CALL_FUNCTION_SEND_ERROR runtime errors with cmRc=18 in /IWBEP/SAPLFGR_MGW_CLIENT_IF

Symptom

Dump occurs with runtime error CALL_FUNCTION_SEND_ERROR on the back-end system in transaction ST22 for function module /IWBEP/FM_MGW_HANDLE_REQUEST (program /IWBEP/SAPLFGR_MGW_CLIENT_IF) under high load of OData calls.

In the What happened? section of the dump the following can be seen: "CPIC-CALL: 'ThCMSEND' : cmRc=18 thRc=0"

(When creating SAP Gateway payload traces in the back-end system in /n/IWBEP/TRACES and on the SAP Gateway hub system in /n/IWFND/TRACES the following behavior can be confirmed: in the backend trace the request and the response XML is captured, but on the hub system only the request is logged. This means that the RFC connection is closed before the back-end system can send the response payload back to the hub system.)
