2622714 - SAP Certified Consultant cannot access SAP Support Portal

Symptom

You are an independent SAP Certified Consultant and want to access SAP Support Portal

Environment

SAP Support Portal

Reproducing the Issue

  • You access https://support.sap.com/ and try to login
  • You do not have an S-user ID or the user ID you received after being certified is not accepted.

Cause

SAP Education Department no longer provides the roles to access SAP Support Portal to independent Users.

The user ID obtained from a Certification process is for Training and Education purposes only. It is not valid to access SAP Support Portal or support-related content, such as SAP Notes and KBAs.

SAP used to issue S-user IDs for certified consultants in the past, but since the release of the SAP Training Portal http://training.sap.com/, which is dedicated to Consultants and education purposes, access to SAP Support Portal and support related content is restricted. All S-user IDs issued in the past for independent SAP Certified Consultants are gradually being deactivated.

Assignment of “S” user credentials is no longer part of the Education process when booking customers to courses or exams as it was in the past. Customers still get a participant ID (which has similar format with an 'S' followed by 10 digit numbers starting with two or three zero’s) and although this number is still called an S-user ID for Pearson Vue vouchers and e-learning access, the actual S-user credentials will not be active.

SAP Support Portal, as well as SAP for Me can only be accessed by SAP Customers or SAP Partners – companies that hold a valid Support agreement. A valid S-user ID for access to the support pages is the S-user ID linked to company's account at SAP (customer number), issued by the super administrators at the company.

Resolution

  • Independent SAP certified consultants should access SAP Training Portal https://training.sap.com/ and/or SAP Community https://www.sap.com/community.html. They can register themselves or use the user ID received after the certification. Use SAP Community for open technical support and queries about SAP products.
  • If an SAP Certified Consultant is working to an SAP Customer or SAP Partner with active support contract, they can request a valid S-user ID under their customer number. For that, please contact the super-administrators at the company to request an S-user ID. In case you do not know who the super administrators at the company are, please contact your local Customer Interaction Center and provide the company’s customer number or installation number and CIC will be able to inform who the super administrators are. You can find the contact channels for CIC at Support Portal > Contact Us > Non-Technical Assistance <https://support.sap.com/en/contact-us.html>

  • If you already have a second S-user ID linked to the company you currently work for, please use that one to access SAP Support Portal.
  • Should you have any queries about your access rights and credentials as an independent SAP Certified Consultant, please contact the regional SAP Education office where you took your course and certification. All regional contacts for SAP Education team (email and phone) can be found at the home page of SAP Training Portal https://training.sap.com/.
