2622763 - File size error when importing content

Symptom

Admin is unable to import content. Error message is being displayed "At least one of the files selected is more than the maximum file size allowed" and File size error.

"Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental."

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Log into HCM >
  2. Navigate to Learning Administration >
  3. At Content > Import Content >
  4. Select 'Add New Content' >
  5. Select the content file to be uploaded and the error happens.

Cause

The content selected is bigger than the maximum file size allowed.

Resolution

The content file size property can be edited at System Administration > Configuration > System Configuration > CONTENT IMPORT > maximumFileSizeKB.

Please note that the above setting is different from the one located at System Administration > Configuration > System Configuration > LMS_ADMIN > fileUploadMaxSize.

This allows content to have a higher or lower size limit than other content in the application like thumbnails or QuickGuide photos.
