Symptom
When visits are generated from a route, all generated visits display the same name.
Environment
SAP Cloud for Customer core applications
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to the Visits work center.
- Navigate to the Routes view.
- Create a new route.
- In the Overview facet, under Proposed Visits, add Account XYZ1 and Account XYZ2.
- Save and activate the route.
- Choose Actions → Generate Visits.
- Observe that all generated visits have the same name.
Cause
This is the expected system behavior.
When the same account is added multiple times to a route, a separate visit is generated for each occurrence of that account. As a result, all visits created for the same account have the same visit name.
For example, if a route contains:
- Account XYZ1 three times, and
- Account XYZ2 once,
the system generates four visits:
- Three visits with the name Visit XYZ1.
- One visit with the name Visit XYZ2.
Although the visit names are the same for the repeated account, each visit is created as a separate record with a unique Visit ID, which can be used to distinguish between them.
Resolution
- This is the expected system behavior by design.
- When the same account is added multiple times to a route, the system generates a separate visit for each occurrence. Therefore, multiple visits can have the same name, while each visit remains a unique record with its own Visit ID
