2624460 - Error 14108 raised doing SELECT INTO EXISTING TABLE - ASE

Symptom

  • Error 14108 raised when SELECT INTO EXISTING TABLE command implicitly converts a non-LOB (text, image, unitext, java) column to a LOB column
  • Stacktrace may also be output in errorlog with functions ptn_get_pdes, ptn_pdes_set, and open_partition on the stack.

    Example:
    Msg 14108, Level 20, State 4:
    Server 'ASE', Line 1:
    Could not find partition descriptor for objid 1, indid 255, ptnid 1 in dbid 2.
    ASE is terminating this process.
