"You are not allowed to change the field bookingEndDate in your Period End Processing rule" error is received when running or simulating Period End Processing calendar

1. Go to Admin Center > Manage Time Off Calendars.

2. Run or simulate a Period End Processing Calendar.

3. Go to Admin Center > Monitor Job then download the log file for the calendar simulation/run.

This is an expected system behavior.

In 1802 release, a new validation is introduced to restrict configurations that would adjust bookable period of time accounts in Period End Processing rule. In earlier release versions, although it is possible to move bookable dates of time accounts through Period End Processing, SAP does not recommend to set this configuration in the period end processing rule. Period End Processing rule should only be configured to create postings on old/new time accounts for carryover scenario or when closing time accounts.

To move bookable period of time accounts, recommended setup is to use Interim Account Update scenario. See 2309405 for detailed steps and guidance.
