2625138 - "Error while generating HTML" when using commentary component

Symptom

On a document containing a crosstab and using BW as data source, when adding the technical component "comments" the application crashes with "Error while generating HTML" message. On the logs, you can see the following:

"com.sap.ip.bi.base.exception.BIBaseRuntimeException: Error while generating HTML

Caused by: java.lang.NullPointerException: while trying to invoke the method com.sap.ip.bi.bics.dataaccess.consumer.selector.selection.members.IComponentList.isOnlySingleMembersSelection(bool) of a null object loaded from local variable 'effectiveSelection'"
