Symptom
When trying to delete a record in an MDF business rule an error message is displayed, similar to below:
The Rule **** is accessed in Object definition Payment Information.
Environment
Employee Central - Business Rules
Employee Central - MDF
Reproducing the Issue
1. Navigate to a business rule in Configure Business Rules, which is triggered on an MDF object.
2. Attempt to delete the entire rule or a record in this rule.
3. Receive an error message stating that the rule is used on an object and can't be deleted.
Cause
This is expected behavior.
Resolution
The system provides built in validations that will check if a Business Rule is triggered on an MDF Object (In Configure Object Definitions).
If it is, you will receive an error and will not be allowed to delete the rule or a record from within the rule.
To delete the rule or a record, please first remove the trigger of the rule from the relevant object definition and then carry out the delete action.
