2626359 - Solution Manager housekeeping jobs are slow - SAP ASE for Solution Manager

  • E2E Housekeeping jobs, compression jobs, UPDATE STATISTICS jobs are very slow on SAP Solution Manager running on SAP ASE database.

  • Selective deletion, maintenance of aggregates jobs are also slow

  • Unprecedented growth is seen on the Solution Manager' SID database - the size of database and/or some Infocubes and/or some tables keeps increasing despite E2E Housekeeping

  • Runtime TIME_OUT dumps are seen frequently on the Solution Manager system

  • The latest version of the following notes, for the respective SAP Basis release is implemented:

    BW Correction Collection
    DBA Cockpit Correction Collection
    DDIC patch collection
    Solution Manager Technical Monitoring Patch Collection

  • The Infocubes are of different types - for eg: Extractor Framework, DVM, UPL, CCM

  • Specific example Infocubes include: 0SM_UPL, 0SMD_EAH2, 0SMD_CA02, 0SM_SIZES, 0SM_STAT

  • Per RSSYBPARTMON / SAP_BWTOOLPGM_SYB reports collected via t-code SE38: there are several hyper-partitioned cubes on the system. That is, cubes containing more than 1000 partitions

  • On rare occasions, ASE Error 702 is received accompanied by a stacktrace in the ASE errorlog referencing the functions

    Error: 702, Severity: 20, State: 1 Memory request for 19020 bytes exceeds the size of single page of 16384 bytes.

    LeAPScanContext::LeAPScanContext(LeAPScanOp*, LePlanFragContext*)
    LePtnScanContext::LePtnScanContext(LePtnScanOp*, LePlanFragContext*)
