2626409 - Specifying date/time fields in Connector input files - Timezone

Symptom

When using different Connectors such as the Learning History and Item Connectors, how should any fields that use a date and time be specified in the input file?

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Learning

Resolution

Previous to a change in b1802, if date and time fields were not specified, the data would default to the database timezone. All database values were updated to use UTC.

Any new Learning environments will have to run Connectors with UTC (Coordinated Universal Time) values. To validate what the Connector input file date and time fields timezone should be set to:

  1. Navigate to Learning Administration
  2. Go to System Administration > Connectors
  3. Select any Connector
  4. See the Note section near the bottom that will specify what the timezone any date/time values should be in

If the Connector requires a HH:MM:SS timestamp, change the admin preferences as per 2168610. The administrator preferences can also be changed to the Note section of the Connector, such as UTC, to see information such as Item Revision date to make sure that it's exact as it is in the database.
