2629370 - SSL certificate failed after upgrading to ASE16.0 SP03 - SAP ASE 16.0 SP03

Symptom

  • Certificate file work fine in pre-ASE 16.0 SP03 server, but failed after upgrade to a ASE 16.0 SP03 PLXX (XX is less than 04).
  • sp_ssladmin 'addcert' failed in ASE 16.0 SP03.

1> sp_ssladmin addcert,'<path>/<ASE_server_name>.crt','<password>'
2> go
Msg 12823, Level 16, State 1:
Server '<ASE_server_name>', Procedure 'sp_ssladmin', Line 157:
Command 'addcert' failed to add certificate path <path>/<ASE_server_name>.crt, system error: Other certificate failure.
(return status = 1)

  • Messages in the ASE errorlog file:

enp_sslVerifyIdentity(): sapsecu_decode_cert() returned ret = 261
Common Crypto Library SSL symbols loaded.
Cannot allocate resources for listener with protocol ssltcp, host <hostname>, port <port_number>.
