2630550 - Dual-Stack: Error in Deploy Java Offline Components during upgrade with SUM

Symptom

While performing an upgrade on a dual-stack system, the following error occurs during "Deploy Java Offline Components" step:

The following problem has occurred during step execution: com.sap.sdt.j2ee.tools.sdmprocess.SDMProcessException: Cannot execute Java process for deployList with parameters SUM/sdt/tmp/deploy_list.txt.
Return code condition success evaluated to false for process java for action ACTION_DEPLOY_LIST.


In the log file DEFINE-TARGET-SOURCE_XX.LOG, entries similar to the following can be found:

<date and time> [Warning]: Product EHP3 FOR SAP SRM 7.0 in stack expects topology ABAP_ONLY but current system topology is DUAL_STACK. 
<date and time> [Warning]: Product SAP NETWEAVER 7.4 in stack expects topology ABAP_ONLY but current system topology is DUAL_STACK. 
<date and time> [Warning]: Product SAP SRM 7.0 in stack expects topology ABAP_ONLY but current system topology is DUAL_STACK. 
[...]
<date and time> [Info ]: The scenario is: UPDATE
