Symptom
In Project Plan-Work, you want to schedule work packages for same service and employee in different period.
But when creating the second work package for the same service and same employee, system raises error:
'Task already has a work package for this team member and service.'

Reproducing the Issue

Go to Project Management work center, Projects view.

Open Project ABC, navigate to Project Plan, select task DEF.

Scroll down and go to subtab: Work, you can see Service GHI has been assigned to team member XYZ.
- Add Row, select service as GHI, team member as XYZ, you see system raises error message:
'Task already has a work package for this team member and service.'
ABC means the Project ID.
DEF means the Project Task ID.
GHI means the Service ID.
XYZ means the Team Member name.
Cause
System does not allow multiple work packages for the same service and same employee under same project task.
To schedule work packages for same employee in different period, you need to edit period plan for the existing work package for the employee, rather than schedule a new work package.
Resolution

Go to Project Plan, subtab Work, select the existing work package for the employee.

Click Edit Period Plans button.

Select the work package, scroll down, under Period Plan for the existing work package, add row to schedule the period plan for different periods.
