2631811 - Can you reincarnate an instructor?

Symptom

An instructor was deleted, can the user be reincarnated?

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Learning

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Delete an instructor >
  2. When the administrator tries to use the same instructor ID again they receive an error:
    'The User ID does not exist but an old record exist for this User ID. This means that this User existed at some point and has been deleted. You may not re-use this User ID for a new User'.

Cause

The instructor was deleted and cannot be reused or recovered via the UI.

Resolution

While users can be reincarnated, instructors cannot.

Workarounds:

  • Create a new account.
    - OR -
  • Reach out to SAP Professional Services to check the possibility of restoring an Instructor (see KBA 2149831 on how to contact Professional Services).
