2631917 - When Trying to Release a Contract Item The System Gives a Backend Error

• You are trying to release a contract items which has the status In Preparation.
• When clicking on Release the system gives a backend error with the error type ASSERTION_FAILED.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to the Sales Orders Work Centre.
2. Go to the Contracts View.
3. Show All contracts and enter XXX in the Find Field. (XXX represents the ID of the contract).
4. Navigate to the Items Tab.
5. Select the line item which is in preparation.
6. Click Release.

The system gives a backend error.

The end date of the validity of the selected line item lies after the end date of the validity of the contract on header level. This causes the system to give the error.

Correct the validity period of the line item so that it lies within the validity period of the contract on header level.

1. Go to the Sales Orders Work Centre.
2. Go to the Contracts View.
3. Show All contracts and enter XXX in the Find Field. (XXX represents the ID of the contract).
4. Navigate to the Items Tab.
5. Select the line item which is in preparation.
6. Adjust the validity period.
7. Click release.
