Symptom
When using value help search in Sales Order, you try to do the query with condition as exclude with a wild card selection, while system doesn't throw the correct result back and exclusion of wild card selection doesn't work.

Reproducing the Issue
-
Go to Sales Orders Work Center
-
Under Common Tasks, click New Sales Order
-
Click value help on the Name field and Open Advanced Filter
- In Account ID field, click More Filters on the right hand side
- Fulfill the query as: Value equals to *L* but exclude *_*
- Account ID which includes '_' still being listed on the result list
Cause
There is a restriction for current system design.Exclusion of "wildcard" selection in Sales Order value help serach is currently not supported.
Exclude with a wild card (*) doesn't get transformed to fetch data.
Resolution
This is system's current behavior.
As workarond, you can do a specific filter on Account ID value instead of a generic filter including wild card and Not Contains Pattern.
