2631960 - Unexpected Query Result in Value Help Search of Account in Sales Order

Symptom

When using value help search in Sales Order,you try to do the query with condition as exclude with a wild card selection, while system doesn't throw the correct result back and exclusion of wild card selection doesn't work.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Sales Orders Work Center
  2. Under Common Tasks, click New Sales Order
  3. Click value help on the Name field and Open Advanced Filter
  4. In Account ID field, click More Filters on the right hand side
  5. Fulfill the query as: Value equals to *L* but exclude *_*
  6. Account ID which includes '_' still being listed on the result list

Cause

There is a restriction for current system design.Exclusion of "wildcard" selection in Sales Order value help serach is currently not supported.

Exclude with a wild card (*)  doesn't get transformed to fetch data.

Resolution

This is system's current behavior.

As workarond, you can do a specific filter on Account ID value instead of a generic filter including wild card and Not Contains Pattern.
