2633095 - When opening attachment, there is error "Attachment list Cannot determine a front-end path"

Symptom

  • Issue happens for some users suddenly when opening document you get the error as shown in the screenshot. Everything was working fine earlier and the issue starts suddenlyCapture.JPG
  • When displaying PDFs inplace (inside SAP GUI), message on the footer shows "xxx bytes transferred" but no file is displayed for specific users.
  • Issue disappears if a clean install of SAPGUI is done in the frontend.
  • If restore & cleanup the SAP GUI settings, the issue is resolved.
  • Clearing the files in C:\Users\<username>\Documents\SAP\SAP GUI resolves the issue.
