2633562 - Incorrect numeric values after importing data from an Excel or CSV file in SAP Analytics Cloud

Symptom

You have a CSV or Excel file with numeric values such as 0.015 and -0.004.

After creating a model, you visualize the data in a story and see the following values: 150.00 and 4.000

Environment

  • SAP Analytics Cloud

Cause

The numeric format selected during the process of importing (wrangling) was incorrect, with the decimal value selected as comma rather than dot.

Resolution

Select the number format that matches the file you are using.

In this case, select the decimal separator as dot:
