USCIS has sent notice that there will be an extended outage this weekend. Below is the information provided to us:

Due to the implementation of system enhancements, E-Verify and myE-Verify will be unavailable from April 20 at 9 p.m. to April 22 at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern). During this time, employers will not be able to access their E-Verify accounts and employees will not be able to access their myE-Verify accounts.

We apologize for any inconvenience and look forward to serving you once we resume operations.

For more information, see our fact sheet.

Similar to the government shutdown, when E-Verify comes back up the activity will catch up. There will be no need to re-submit or re-enter any data.

E-Verify Policies That Will Minimize Impact

We understand that E-Verify’s unavailability may impact employer operations. To minimize the burden on both employers and employees, we have implemented the following policies:

  • Employers may not take adverse action against an employee because the E-Verify case is in an interim case status (such as a Tentative Nonconfirmation, DHS Verification in Process, or a Case in Continuance), including while the employee’s case is in an extended interim case status due to E-Verify’s unavailability.
  • Federal contractors with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) E-Verify clause should contact their contracting officer to inquire about extending federal contractor deadlines.
