2635347 - Workflow Escalation when Job Relationships Change

Symptom

When we change the job relationship - HR Manager, for example - the new HR Manager is not assigned to the workflow which was already triggered while initiating termination of any employee.

However, if the previous HR Manager doesn't take action, the escalation will evaluate the new HR Manager and escalate to their manager - rather than the previous HR Manager who is the one that failed to take action.

Environment

Reproducing the Issue

Create a workflow for termination;
Confirm that the workflow has two approvers and that the first approver is the matrix manager;
Terminate any employee
Workflow is triggered
Approver 1 does not approve
Instead we do a job relationship change for the employee which is in termination pending status
Now we see the workflow is still in To Do list of the first approver (HR Leader) before the job relationship was changed
And if we check for the new HR Leader (Matrix Manager) the notification is in > My Pending Requests (to approve/withdraw the workflow)
Now if we go back to the previous HR Leader's > To do list, and try to approve the workflow while proxy as him - it throws an error - You are not authorized to perform this action
And if we go to > My Pending Requests of the new HR Leader > he/she can approve the workflow

Cause

This is Expected Behavior.

Resolution

The new HR Leader (Matrix Manager) after job relationship change can approve the workflow from My Pending Requests page (he will not get it in To Do list).

Note: This did not seem to work until the browser cache is cleared, logged out of the instance, waited for a while for browser refresh.
