Symptom
Is it possible to access the iContent content URLs directly in the browser, like a web server, and not only through Learning?
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Learning
Cause
That's not possible. The iContent servers aren't externally accessible. It prevents security issues if the links are accessed and the files get corrupted, stolen or anything malicious targeting the content stored on the server. The only way to be able to access the iContent courses/data is through the authentication that happens within Learning.
Resolution
It'd be possible to try to use another content server (your own content server) to access the URLs directly in the browser. Please, take a look at the "See Also" section of the KBA and contact your IT team for further information and assistance on it.
Note: In case the course is successfully set to be used directly via the browser, it'd be necessary to have this setup to communicate with SAP SuccessFactors Learning, so the course would be completed/failed by the Learning user. To try to have this scenario working, it's possible to reach out to the SAP team that delivers services and/or an SAP Certified Partner.
