2638457 - How to update a label with a blank value

In Learning, it's desired to have a blank label value. When clearing the label field and saving it, an error returns:

Validation Error

You must correct the following error(s) before proceeding:

• Label Value is required.

SAP SuccessFactors Learning

1. Learning Administration > References > Manage Labels > Labels >
2. Search and access the desired label > "Locales" tab >
3. Find the desired locale field >
4. Delete the text > Click "Apply Changes".

It's not possible to save it without a value.

A workaround can be utilized to blank out the label value, but it should be fully tested as the same label can be used in many places.

1. Learning Administration > References > Manage Labels > Label Import/Export > Export Labels > Next >
2. Select the desired locale > Next > Add the desired label ID > Next > Name the file > Download >
3. Open the downloaded file > Change the value after the "=" to "\u00A0" > Sample: labelID=\u00A0 > Save the file >
4. Learning Administration > References > Manage Labels > Label Import/Export > Import Labels > Next >
5. Choose File > Next > Next > Select the desired locale (it should be the same as it was used to export the file) > Configure "Use By" > Check the "Overwrite Existing Labels" box > Finish.
