2638517 - While Adding Country Code System Does Not Delete 0 For All Countries

While creating Accounts for different countries you notice that the system does not delete leading 0 when adding country codes for all countries.

For this example, we will compare telephone number behaviour between Spain and Germany. The same behaviour happens for other countries.

1. Go to the Customers work centre.
2. Go to the Accounts view.
3. Create a new account A1 with the telephone number 012345678 and country ES - Spain.
4. Create a new account B1 with the telephone number 012345678 and country DE - Germany.

Result:

• When you open A1 you will see that the country code +34 was added. You have the result: +34 0123456789.
• When you open B1 you will see that the country code +49 was added. You have the result: +49 123456789.

Not all countries use a trunk prefix.

Germany (as example) uses the trunk prefix zero (0) for area codes and mobile numbers. When dialing a German number from abroad, this zero (0) needs to be deleted for the call to work.

This is not the case for Spanish telephone numbers where the zero (0) can (but does not have to be!) part of a valid telephone number and will have to be included when dialing from abroad.

This is expected system behaviour.

Please check if the telephone number you are using is correct and check if the country the account belongs to uses a trunk prefix. If they do not, the system will not delete the zero (0) but presume it to be part of the actual number.
