2639081 - Error: "Serial Numbers are not allowed for product XYZ"

The below error occurs when creating an Outbound Delivery from a 3PL Request created for a Stock Transfer Order.

Error: Serial Numbers are not allowed for Product XYZ

(XYZ represents the Product ID)

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to Third-Party Logistics work center.
2. Go to 3PL Request view.
3. Search 3PL Request ABC (ABC represents the 3PL Request ID).
4. Choose New Outbound Delivery.
5. Go to line items tab.
6. In the Serial Number sub-tab, Enter Serial Number OPQ (OPQ represents the Serial Number).
7. Choose Check Consistency.
8. The error occurs,
   Serial Numbers are not allowed for product XYZ (XYZ represents the Product ID).

• The Serial Number Profile of Product XYZ is set to “Mandatory on Transfer to/from Customers” in the Product Master Data.
• The 3PL Request ABC is created for a Stock Transfer Order. Therefore, the preferred Serial Number Profile is “Mandatory on Transfer to/from Customers, Suppliers and Sites.”

(XYZ represents the Product ID, ABC represents the 3PL Request ID)

To maintain the Serial Number Profile to “Mandatory on Transfer to/from Customers, Suppliers and Sites” follow the below steps:

1. Go to Product Data work center.
2. Go to Materials view.
3. Search for the Product XYZ.
4. Choose Edit.
5. Choose View All.
6. In the General Tab, select Serial Number Profile as 'Mandatory on Transfer to/from Customers, Suppliers and Sites'.
7. Choose Save.

(XYZ represents the Product ID)
