2639584 - Trace file rotation parameter maxfiles is not taken into account for HANA Alert files and dumps

Symptom

  • You configure the parameter maxfiles as per question 20. How can logs and traces of SAP HANA be purged? from KBA 2000003 - FAQ: SAP HANA but the number of trace files is larger than what you have configured for parameter maxfiles
  • On further investigation you see that the HANA Trace files are Alert trace files or HANA Dump files (runtimedumps, crashdumps, oom dumps)
