2640702 - Renaming Broadcast Attachments

When you send out broadcasts in the format xml, xlsx or csv (or any of them zipped), the recipients receive a file with a cryptic name, such as CODOPPU_Q0001.xml. You would like to change the file name into another label.

Alternatively, if the attachment is opened in Excel (xml or xlsx file), you would like to change the sheet name.

1. Go to the work center Business Analytics, view Broadcasts.
2. Click on New.
3. Enter the details as required. Select one of the following formats: xml, xlsx or csv.
4. Tick the box ZIP if required.
5. Save and Close.
6. Back in the broadcast list, mark your broadcast and click on Start Now.

Once the broadcast is received, you notice that the attachments has a name such as CODOPPU_Q0001.xml which is not meaningful.

The attachment of a broadcast is named by the technical ID of the report that is sent. The sheet name of xml or xlsx files is determined by the time stamp when the broadcast is sent.

Currently there is no option to rename the attachment of a broadcast or the Excel sheet. Please register this on the SAP Influence page:
