Symptom

  • For Non-ASE server this is an issue when capability bit 'RPCPARAM_LOB' is not set as it expects LOB to be sent as a VALUE and not PARAMETER.
  • OpenSwitch server doesn't support LOB parameters, but jConnect sends this anyways:
  • On trying to insert LOB data. jConnect sends data in parameterized way as:
  • LANGUAGE Token (0x21): variable length.
    Length [4]: 32
    Status [1]: PARAMETERIZED (0x01)
    Text Lenght [0]: [31]
    Text [31]: "insert blobtable values (1, @p0)"
