2641271 - Custom HTML Format in Document Generation

Symptom

  • Can we use custom fonts in document generation?
  • Can we create our own format for Document Generation using HTML Tags?
  • Customizing different type of HTML tags in document generation like dropdown: <select>

Environment

  • SSAP SuccessFactors Employee Central: Document Generation

Cause

  • Custom HTML Formatting is not supported with the use of the main text body within Document Generation
  • This is a Rich Text box and will display the input values exactly how it is input
    • Meaning that tags such as the following will display as clear text and not format differently then what is displayed in the text field:
      • <p>
      • </p>
      • <li>
      • </li>
      • <ul>
      • </ul>
  • Dropdown elements like <select> HTML elements as well are not supported in document generation.

Resolution

  • Below are few fonts available for selection in Admin Tools > Manage Document Template :

  • Other than the fonts in above dropdown, we cannot have other fonts

We tried by manually changing the font in HTML format, as well as using other HTML code to attempt to format the body of the email:

  • By navigating to Manage Data > Document Generation Template
  • We verified that the font would not reflect the HTML Changes
  • The only way to change the Font is using the options available in the dropdown menu
  • Also, only the element options given in the template content editor (i.e Table, List(ordered/unordered), etc) are supported. HTML <select> dropdown is not available.
  • To have this enhancement considered in a future version of the product, consider raising an enhancement request by following steps explained in the following KBA
