2641274 - How to Exclude Project Task in Time sheet for an Employee?


You use cost collectors for different cost centers for collecting internal times which have the same structure.
Employee can see multiple Project tasks with the same description in the value help in the employee time sheet.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Project Team work center
  2. Select Edit Timesheet
  3. Select Add Time Entry
  4. The value help for work package task shows 2 tasks with same name


When an employee gets reassigned to another cost center, he also gets staffed on another cost collector. Therefore he would now see two Project Tasks with the same description.

This is the standard behavior.


As a work around, Employees can manage the worklist in order to avoid confusion between the Project Tasks.This will be a one time activity for the employee. Please follow below steps:
Go to Home Work center
Click on view Self Service Overview
Click on Edit Time Sheet
Click on Button Manage My Worklist, Select the project task which belongs to Project from old Cost Center
Click on Action -> select Hide in Time Sheet

This will not default this Project Task in the Time Sheet and will help in avoiding the confusion between the old and the new project task of similar description.
