You are trying to Assemble your solution Y12345678_(stands for the solution ID in SAP Cloud Applications Studio) and it fails with the following error messages:

Please activate and check in the object /Y12345678_MAIN/SRC/filename.xs(stands for the Repository Path of the inconsistent file in SAP Cloud Applications Studio)
Assembly in background failed.

1. Go to Implementation Manager
2. Click on the Assemble and Download button
3. You will receive the following error messages: Please activate and check in the object /Y12345678_MAIN/SRC/filename.xs(stands for the Repository Path of the inconsistent file in SAP Cloud Applications Studio). Assembly in background failed

The file mentioned in the error message became inconsistent on backend.

In SAP Cloud Applications Studio, go to the inconsistent file, right-click on it and select "Check Out Content". Then, right-click again on the same file and select "Check In Content".
Now you should be able to proceed with the Assemble activities.
