Symptom

  • A query running with parallel mode returns no result after ASE upgrade to 16.0 SP03. 
  • sp_who results shows that worker processes are in 'sync sleep'.
    17   17 sleeping   sa       (omit)     SELECT          
    17   18 sync sleep sa       (omit)     WORKER PROCESS  
    17   19 sync sleep sa       (omit)     WORKER PROCESS
  • A coordinating thread is sleeping at pipe_read()
    dbcc stacktrace(17)

  • Two Worker threads are sleeping at uwrecv()
    dbcc stacktrace(18)
