2642088 - How to add range partitions to an already range partitioned table - SAP IQ

If you have a table that is range partitioned, how do you add new range partitions?

Adding new partitions give the following error:

Table 'range_test' is already partitioned or subpartitioned

SQLCODE=-1251, ODBC 3 State="HY000"
Line 2, column 1

SAP IQ 16.0 ; SAP IQ 16.1
