2642409 - How to use Import Tool to update users - LMS


Admin wants to update multiple users.

Admins can update users information through the import data tool by following the bellow steps:

Downloading the import data template

  1. Navigate to System Administration > System Management Tools > Import Data
  2. Select action Download Template
  3. Select record type User
  4. Hit Submit

Fill the template according to your needs, observing the instructions and that there are required fields and save it on your local system.

Importing the filled template:

  1. Navigate to System Admin > System Management > Import Data
  2. Select action Import Data
  3. Select record type User
  4. Select the import Option of Update
  5. Browse on your local system to the file you have saved after filling the template
  6. Submit

We recommend making a test with few users to make sure that you get the desired results.

You can download the users IDs and other required information to fill the template from LMS, by performing an user search (Users>Users) and clicking on Download Search Results.

Fields to be updated must contain some data. Not possible to update a record with blank data.

These instructions can also be applied to all other options available within the Record Type including Learning History, Instructor, Admin Roles etc.
