2642778 - Msg 301702 Backup Server error Pathname parameter must specify an absolute pathname for SAP ASE for BS

Symptom

  • Errors occur from console and Backup Tool when attempting to dump database from EMC:
  • Backup of database 'sybsystemdb' was not successful. Backing up database sybsystemprocs.
    24146:<hostname>: Error from server <SID>_BS: Msg 301702, Level 2, State 2 Backup Server: 3.17.2.2: Pathname parameter must specify an absolute pathname. Rejected value: (unreachable)/ASE-16_0/install
    24146:<hostname>: Error from server <SID>: Msg 8009, Level 16, State 1 Error encountered by Backup Server. Please refer to Backup Server messages for details.
    24115:<hostname>: Error: unable to dump database sybsystemprocs in instance <SID>. Backup of database 'sybsystemprocs' was not successful.
    73716:<hostname>: The backup for one or more databases failed.
    Please see the libnsrsyb and savegrp log files for details.
    72492:<hostname>: The child nsrdasv exited with a non-zero return code: 65280
    86704:save: Successfully established DDCL session for save-set ID '1056064761' (<hostnameaddress>:SYB:<SID>).
    save: SYB:<SID> 805 KB 00:00:03 142 files
    94694:save: The backup of save set 'SYB:<SID>' succeeded.
    Backing up database <SID>.
    24146:<hostname>: Error from server <SID>_BS: Msg 301702, Level 2, State 2

  • No errors occur in the backup server errorlog, dumps appear to be completing.
