Cause

Invalid CORBA SSL entries exist in the registry

Resolution

***WARNING***: The following resolution involves editing the registry. Using the Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems. Use the Registry Editor at your own risk. Refer to KBA 1323322 for more information.

The following two resolutions both involve editing the entries in the following registry key (step 1 and 2)

  1. Open the Microsoft Registry editor (regedit)
  2. If Windows OS is 32 bit then navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SAP BusinessObjects\Suite XI 4.0\CER
    On 64 bit navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\SAP BusinessObjects\Suite XI 4.0\CER

Resolution 1

  • If not using CORBA SSL then the following keys must be deleted (or corrected if CORBA SSL is required):
      CommicationProtocol
      SSLCertDirectory
      SSLCertificate
      SSLKey
      SSLPassphrase
      SSLTrustCertificate

Resolution 2

  • The following two key should provide a range of ports, some of which are NOT being used by other processes:
      RequestPortLower   (default 0)
      RequestPortUpper   (default 65536)
