Symptom
You checked the scoping question Sales -> Account and Activity Management -> Territory Management -> Transaction Documents Territory Change -> "Include closed documents as part of realignment run and if update of open documents is enabled, also include closed documents in that update?" but you don't see the closed documents updated by your realignment run as you expected.
Closed documents can be:
-
Sales Leads and Leads (with Status Open or Qualified and not in Approval).
- Opportunities (with Status other than New or Open).
- Activities (Tasks, Appointments, Phone Calls, Visits [not new or Open]).
- Sales Quotes.
- Orders.

Reproducing the Issue
-
Wait for your Realignment Run to execute.
- Go to the work center and view containing the affected document.
- Open the document ABC (where ABC is the ID of the document you want to check).
You notice that the Realignment Run did not update ABC as you expected.
Cause
The processing of closed transaction documents takes place via a separate background job to do the updates - it is very possible that when the realignment run execution got finished and all the included open documents were realigned the background job for updating closed documents was not finished or started yet.
Even though the background job to update closed documents is triggered every 20 min, it could happen that based on the data volume to process and system resource availability all the needed updates were not done in one time.
Resolution
The recommendation is to wait a few hours to check this information, giving the system the needed time to complete the above mentioned separate job.
