Symptom

  • Instance fails at startup.
  • Dispatcher trace file (dev_disp) display following messages before shutdown occurs:

    ***LOG Q0K=> DpMsAttach, mscon ( <hostname>) [dpxxdisp.c 12998]
    use SAPLOCALHOST=<<hostname>> as internal hostname
    *** ERROR => NiIMyAddrVerify: NiIConnect failed ('<hostname>' ; <IP address:port number>; 5000ms; rc=-12) [nixxi.cpp 9019]
    *** ERROR => SAPLOCALHOST=<<hostname>> [dpxxdisp.c 13054]
    *** DP_FATAL_ERROR => DpMsAttach: incorrect value for SAPLOCALHOST
    *** DISPATCHER EMERGENCY SHUTDOWN ***
