2650080 - Error "New Tax Code Entry for Country Spain is Not Allowed" Occurs While Adding a New Tax Code

Symptom

  • New Tax Code XY cannot be added because the error message 'New Tax Code Entry XY for Country Spain is Not Allowed'.
  • Note: XY represents the Tax Code ID.

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the Business Configuration work center.
  2. Go to the Implementation Projects view.
  3. Select the First Implementation.
  4. Select the Open Activity List button.
  5. Find Tax on Goods and Services Activity and open it.
  6. Open Define Tax Codes option under Tax Codes field.
  7. Select the Add Row button.
  8. Add the relevant information for the new Tax Code XY.
  9. Click the Save button.
  10. 'New tax code entry XY for country Spain is not allowed' error is displayed.
     

Cause

This is the standard system behaviour.

Resolution

It is not allowed to specify new Tax Codes or change the existing ones for Canada, India, Spain, or Mexico.
